Thor has been our stud sire for 1999 - 2000. He really has served two tours of duty (these two years have been very dry, 2000 was the driest on record) but still managed to get everything in calf and come back in at around 800kg at 26 months of age. This is an extraordinary achievement, especially considering the climate, his work rate and almost zero supplementation through the height of the drought (just a little bit of fortified molasses).
Thor himself is a big, very correct son of the french sire Dauphin out of one of our very best Fashion daughters, GLG Rha'tia, a flush sister to GLG Richter. Dauphin is considered by many to be the very best sire to come from the French progeny test program for the last decade.
The first progeny from Thor have all come easily, even from heifers, and display the same correctness and eye appeal as their sire.
